Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept Medicaid?
We are a private pay home and do not accept Medicaid.
Do you have a delegating nurse?
Yes, we work with Janice Beaudin, RND. Janice also is available to do long-term care assessments and annual assessments.
Is your staff able to administer injectable insulin?
Yes, there are staff members who have training and are able to be delegated for this task.
Are Residents able to age in place or do they need to move after reaching a certain level of care?
We strongly believe aging in place is of the greatest importance. As long as we are able to fully meet the care needs, there is never a reason to move. We have been working alongside hospice nurses and physicians for over 18 years.
Are your rooms private?
We are presently licensed for 4 beds but would be able to increase our beds to 6 should there be couples or friends who wanted to room share. So, in that case, the room would become semi-private.
What is your visitation policy? Do I need to call before coming?
Our suggested visiting hours are from 10:30 AM until 5 PM. We will accommodate special requests for exceptions to this policy. No one ever needs to call before showing up unless they just want to.
What type of meal is typically served?
We plan our meals using any medical dietary directives and Resident preferences as our guide. We strive to have an artful presentation with abundant flavors and balance. We use fresh whole foods as a base of each meal, some of which are grown and harvested or produced by our much loved hens. (No worries, they are allowed to live out their lives in retirement after their productive years are past.)
Do you have a bathtub?
No. We have a roll-in shower with a shower chair and handheld shower. Showers are either standby assist or full assist as needed.
What about laundry?
We do Resident laundry daily. However, there may be a rare occasion that family may be asked to participate. We do ask when choosing clothing to bring to an adult family home that ease of care be strongly considered.
Do you have a beautician that comes to the home?
We have a beautician that cuts and styles hair, performs color and perms.
She also does men’s haircuts and grooming.
What about podiatry?
Provided that the Resident is not diabetic, anyone on staff may cut and file nails. Should a person be a diabetic, skilled nursing would be required.
